Terms of Use

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. Service Availability

aurate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features, functionality, and availability may change without notice. We are actively developing and improving the service based on user feedback.

By using aurate, you acknowledge that the service may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions, and that availability is not guaranteed.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use aurate. By using the platform, you confirm that you are 18 or over. aurate is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly provide the service to, or collect personal data from, children. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will close their account and delete their data.

3. Acceptable Use

When using aurate, you agree to:

  • Use the platform only for its intended purpose: interview preparation and skills development.
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the platform.
  • Not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.
  • Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform.
  • Not attempt to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or access controls.
  • Not use the platform to generate content that is abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful.
  • Not record, redistribute, or publicly share session audio or AI-generated content without our written permission.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and technology comprising the aurate platform (including the Vibe Card design, scoring methodology, and AI prompt architecture) are the intellectual property of AURATE AI LTD. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written consent.

Your session data (Vibe Scores, performance metrics, and generated feedback) belongs to you. You can delete it at any time via your account settings; to receive a machine-readable copy, email us and we will provide it.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • aurate is provided for educational and preparatory purposes only. We do not guarantee any specific interview outcomes, job offers, or career results.
  • AI-generated feedback, scores, and assessments are indicative tools and should not be treated as professional career advice.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of aurate shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific interview or role.

6. Data Collection and Privacy

By using aurate, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • aurate stores pseudonymised performance and progression data — linked to a one-way hash of your account, not your name, email, or IP — to give you progression insight and maintain aggregate benchmarks, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Audio is never recorded. Your voice is transcribed in real time by Google Gemini so the AI can respond, and the audio stream goes directly from your browser to Google — it never passes through our servers.
  • We use your interview audio only to transcribe your answers and generate your feedback — never to recognise or identify you by your voice. For that reason we treat this as ordinary personal data under UK GDPR, not as special category 'biometric' data under Article 9.
  • The session transcript is retained on our servers to generate and verify your performance feedback and to resolve disputes. Transcripts are tied to your account and are deleted when you delete it, or after 18 months, whichever comes first.
  • The Autopsy shown on your Vibe Card and /autopsy page — including your Vibe Score, feedback bullets, Biggest Gap, Silver Lining, Next Step, and module summaries — is retained alongside your account and deleted when you delete it.
  • Your CV text and a short summary of it, when you provide a CV for a session, are stored alongside that session record for the duration of your account. They're deleted when you delete your account.
  • This pseudonymised benchmarking data is stored from the end of each session and, because it carries no name, email, or IP, is not removed when you delete your account — as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We never sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Payments and Billing

aurate uses Stripe to process all payments. We sell interview sessions four ways: a one-off pack (4 sessions, valid for 90 days), a monthly subscription (4 sessions per month), an annual subscription (4 sessions per month for 12 months), and a session top-up (+1 session, available while you have an unexpired pack or an active subscription period to add it to). By purchasing any of these, you agree to the following.

Authorisation

  • You authorise charging your selected payment method for the amount displayed at checkout.
  • For subscriptions, you authorise recurring charges — monthly or yearly, per your plan — until you cancel.
  • For one-off packs and top-ups, each purchase is confirmed by you at the time of payment.

Subscriptions: renewal, reminders, and cancelling

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. We will email you before each renewal — 3 days before a monthly renewal and 14 days before an annual renewal — so a charge never takes you by surprise.

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard ("Manage billing"): cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep access to your remaining sessions until the end of the period you've paid for. If a renewal payment fails, your card is retried automatically; your new sessions arrive once payment succeeds.

Right of cancellation (14 days) and immediate access

Under UK consumer law you have a 14-day right to cancel after purchase. aurate sessions are digital content supplied as soon as you complete checkout, so at checkout we ask for your express consent to start supply immediately.

If you cancel a subscription within 14 days of starting it, we refund what you paid for the current period less the sessions you've used, calculated at your plan's per-session rate for that period. If you cancel a pack purchase within 14 days, we refund the sessions you haven't used at the pack's per-session rate. Email hello@aurateai.com to cancel under this right. After purchase you'll receive written confirmation of your consent by email.

Refunds

  • Cooling-off (first 14 days): pro-rata as above.
  • After 14 days: subscription periods already paid for are not refunded — cancel to stop future charges and use your remaining sessions until the period ends. Pack sessions past the 14-day window are non-refundable but stay valid for their full 90 days.
  • Technical failures: if a session fails due to a system error on our side — for example a connection failure, a service outage mid-session, or a failure to generate your Vibe Card — email hello@aurateai.com and we'll re-credit or refund the affected session. Where we can detect an interrupted session we'll offer this automatically.
  • Goodwill exceptions: in genuinely exceptional circumstances we may issue a discretionary refund, once per customer, case-by-case.
  • Refund medium and timing: approved refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method, within 5 business days of a valid request.

Session validity

  • Packs: pack sessions expire 90 days from purchase.
  • Monthly subscriptions: sessions are valid within their billing month and reset at each renewal — unused sessions do not carry over.
  • Annual subscriptions: you receive 4 sessions each month; a month's unused sessions expire with that month.
  • Top-ups: top-up sessions expire with the window they top up — the end of your current subscription month, or your pack's expiry date.

Sessions are non-transferable. All prices are displayed inclusive of VAT where applicable. Your payment is processed securely by Stripe and aurate does not store your full card details.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms of Use.
  • Fraudulent or abusive behaviour.
  • Attempts to exploit or circumvent platform security measures.
  • Use of the platform in a manner that could harm other users or the service.

You may delete your account at any time via your account settings. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. All directly identifying data is permanently removed. Pseudonymised benchmarking and progression rows — a one-way hash plus performance scores, with no name, email, or IP — are retained to keep our aggregate statistics intact, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you have an active subscription when you delete your account, it is cancelled immediately as part of deletion — you will not be charged again, and any remaining sessions are permanently lost.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice within the application. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
