Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 June 2026

1. Service Availability

aurate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features, functionality, and availability may change without notice. We are actively developing and improving the service based on user feedback.

By using aurate, you acknowledge that the service may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions, and that availability is not guaranteed.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use aurate. By using the platform, you confirm that you are 18 or over. aurate is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly provide the service to, or collect personal data from, children. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will close their account and delete their data.

3. Acceptable Use

When using aurate, you agree to:

  • Use the platform only for its intended purpose: interview preparation and skills development.
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the platform.
  • Not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.
  • Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform.
  • Not attempt to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or access controls.
  • Not use the platform to generate content that is abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful.
  • Not record, redistribute, or publicly share session audio or AI-generated content without our written permission.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and technology comprising the aurate platform (including the Vibe Card design, scoring methodology, and AI prompt architecture) are the intellectual property of AURATE AI LTD. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written consent.

Your session data (Vibe Scores, performance metrics, and generated feedback) belongs to you. You can delete it at any time via your account settings; to receive a machine-readable copy, email us and we will provide it.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • aurate is provided for educational and preparatory purposes only. We do not guarantee any specific interview outcomes, job offers, or career results.
  • AI-generated feedback, scores, and assessments are indicative tools and should not be treated as professional career advice.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of aurate shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific interview or role.

6. Data Collection and Privacy

By using aurate, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • aurate stores pseudonymised performance and progression data — linked to a one-way hash of your account, not your name, email, or IP — to give you progression insight and maintain aggregate benchmarks, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Audio is never recorded. Your voice is transcribed in real time by Google Gemini so the AI can respond, and the audio stream goes directly from your browser to Google — it never passes through our servers.
  • We use your interview audio only to transcribe your answers and generate your feedback — never to recognise or identify you by your voice. For that reason we treat this as ordinary personal data under UK GDPR, not as special category 'biometric' data under Article 9.
  • The session transcript is retained on our servers to generate and verify your performance feedback and to resolve disputes. Transcripts are tied to your account and are deleted when you delete it, or after 18 months, whichever comes first.
  • The Autopsy shown on your Vibe Card and /autopsy page — including your Vibe Score, feedback bullets, Biggest Gap, Silver Lining, Next Step, and module summaries — is retained alongside your account and deleted when you delete it.
  • Your CV text and a short summary of it, when you provide a CV for a session, are stored alongside that session record for the duration of your account. They're deleted when you delete your account.
  • This pseudonymised benchmarking data is stored from the end of each session and, because it carries no name, email, or IP, is not removed when you delete your account — as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We never sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Payments and Billing

aurate uses Stripe to process all payments. By purchasing session credits or upgrading your tier, you agree to the following.

Authorisation

  • You authorise charging your selected payment method for the transaction amount displayed at checkout.
  • For future upgrades or credit purchases, you authorise charging your saved payment method, with confirmation required prior to each charge.

Right of cancellation and the immediate-access waiver

Under UK consumer law (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013), you have a 14-day right to cancel digital services after purchase. aurate session credits are digital content provided as soon as you complete checkout, so the law requires us to ask for your express consent to start performance immediately and your acknowledgement that this waives your 14-day cancellation right for credits you've consumed.

At checkout, you'll be asked to confirm: "I want my credits available immediately. I understand that by ticking this, I waive my 14-day right of cancellation for any credits I consume. Unused credits can still be refunded on request within 14 days of purchase."

After purchase, you will receive a written confirmation of this waiver by email, satisfying the durable-medium requirement under Regulation 37(2) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Refunds

  • Unused credits: refundable on request within 14 days of purchase. A credit is "unused" if you haven't started a session against it. Email hello@aurateai.com to request.
  • Consumed credits: non-refundable after waiver. Once you've started a session, that credit is consumed and cannot be refunded under the standard 14-day right.
  • Technical failures: if a session fails due to a system error on our side — for example a connection failure, a service outage mid-session, or a feedback-generation failure — email hello@aurateai.com and we'll refund or re-credit the affected session. Where we can detect an interrupted session we'll offer a refund automatically, but if in doubt, contact us.
  • Goodwill exceptions: in genuinely exceptional circumstances we may issue a discretionary cash refund as a goodwill gesture. This is limited to once per customer and decided case-by-case.
  • Refund medium and timing: approved refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method, within 5 business days of a valid request.

Pricing and card storage

Session credits are non-transferable and are consumed as described on the product page at the time of purchase. All prices are displayed inclusive of VAT where applicable. Your payment is processed securely by Stripe and aurate does not store your full card details.

Upgrades and loyalty top-ups

  • Upgrading your tier: when you upgrade to a higher tier (for example, Starter to Core), your new tier's full credit allowance replaces your current balance. Any unused credits from your previous tier do not carry over and are not separately refunded. You'll always see the price and exactly what you're getting before you confirm.
  • Loyalty top-ups (same tier): when you buy more credits at your current tier, the new credits are added to your existing balance — nothing is replaced. Loyalty top-ups are offered at a reduced price as a thank-you for coming back, and become available when you are running low on credits.
  • Expiry: your purchased credits do not expire.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms of Use.
  • Fraudulent or abusive behaviour.
  • Attempts to exploit or circumvent platform security measures.
  • Use of the platform in a manner that could harm other users or the service.

You may delete your account at any time via your account settings. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. All directly identifying data is permanently removed. Pseudonymised benchmarking and progression rows — a one-way hash plus performance scores, with no name, email, or IP — are retained to keep our aggregate statistics intact, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice within the application. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
